A pitch to target audience - christmas

Creating a pitch to a media audience.

section 1 - be able to pitch an idea for media audience.
Every advertisement needs to be structured to sell the product it is showing the specific target audience. If the pitch goes to plan the audience will be intrigued by the product which insures a good cash inflow for the charitable organization. I felt some problems thinking of a product to sell but i figured it out by selling items that make high amounts of money in the market such as clothing products (nike, adidas and supreme)

section 2 - be able to produce a written/illustrated document to accompany a pitch.

section 3 - Be able to critique a media product idea and pitch.

If I can critique a media product i can compare it to mine. People within my class had some amazing ideas and presentations that outclassed mine which I take insperation from. A lot of my complaints were just that some of the stories portrayed were overblown or under developed.
James Potts (a student) his presentation was a standout as the storyboard was well realized and very thoughtful, but his product was lacking as it was John Lewis.

what was his story line ? - His storyline was about a love story between a boy and girl as they fall in love...this choice is heart warming and a good marketing strategy as it epenthesises things that matter at the christmas season which is love and joy.

how did his research inform his decision to create an animation - This choice was based around his own research and development looking at other animated masterpieces such as anything by Pixar seen as how his animation would be initially aimed at children having being a cartoon but would have under lining things that more adult audiences would pick up on more than a child would.

why do you think this stood out from the others ? - His storyline was what stood out to me personally as it was very well realized and had that festive and christmas nostalgia grasped within it. His research was done on sainsbury's and he commercials by them which were also animated but included a musical aspect. This helped his advert concept be very well popularized and easy to digested unlike other commercials that air for charity.

did he think through the process of making a complex animation - The complex animation will help it make it stand out and suitable for young audiences as James let the class know the target audience was from ages 10-80 making it more well known for anyone who watches TV. His research was also delved into other animated commercials which inspired him to pursue his creative pitch such as ones by Coca Cola in 1997 and a John Lewis advert.

did his story board help you to visualize the advertisement - His story (as well realized and creative as it was) did not link with his product in the most fantastic way. He didn't have a product as such since it was more just an commercial for John Lewis.

section 4 - Be able to reflect on your own idea and pitch performance.
I can reflect on the other concepts and presentations as they were a mixed bag of good and excellent. I am impressed most by James and Mathews presentations/pitches as they were verse inspiring.

section 4 - Be able to reflect on your own idea and pitch performance.

WHAT WERE YOU ASKED TO CREATE - I was asked to create a pitch for my media class which revolved around christmas time and charitable organizations...putting the two together makes a great idea to pitch as it shows how money can help others during the holiday season.
GIVE A BRIEF OVER VIEW OF YOUR STORY - My story was a family with nothing under a tree while Morgan Freeman Narrates each scene showing the progression of money the family are receiving from the charities which are gaining money from high commercial brands.

My idea was not very well realized and quite weak in retrospective compared to other ones.

My influences were things such as Home Alone (a christmas essential) and songs by Thom Yorke as they are sad and uplifting such as things being poor and getting money from a charitable organization.

I felt some problems thinking of a product to sell but i figured it out by selling items that make high amounts of money in the market such as clothing products (nike, adidas and supreme).

I will do more research next time and find other commercials to feel inspired with my work.
I have learned to take other peoples work into account and use there intentions and inspirations as an advantage to work upon my own faults within my pitching concepts.

If I could go back I would change my storyline to commenting more in depth too contrast the nature of my soundtrack and have it be something along the lines of the same plot but have more scenes and discussions/narrations to show how charity can help those in need. and to work upon it and make it more intriguing and not surface level lack of enthusiasm to the pitch.
