Script

Intro:

Showing shots of dirty grimy boots on a field/cliff area 

                      Voice over:

German woman voice: 

When are you coming back? 

No Reply

You should take me with you

I can’t stay here alone. 

The person who is in view starts to walk towards and onwards on a cliff. 

(Ominous synthesizer music plays in background)

We shift to nighttime and see another man walking along the cliff (only foot view)  

(Shot of round a table)

Wilhelm:

Where did you come from? 

Asks confidentially but with some mild anguish. His hair dirty and in his face he looks up

                       Mathias:

Somewhere, why do you want to know? 

He says this with not much care but with intimidation.

Wilhelm:

Just conversation…

Mathias throws food that is on table onto the floor and walks off screaming at himself. 

Scene 3 –

Wilhelm is in bed and hears noises outside his door while it thunders outside. He is fearful but sticks it through the night. 

The next morning – 

Mathias finds his draws that were filled with clothes scattered around his room 

And he goes outside his room and finds his belongings torn up and thrown around. He is confused and fuming. 

Wilhelm waits for Mathias to return and when he wanders back to the lighthouse, Wilhelm confronts him holding his torn clothes…

Wilhelm:

What the hell do you think you are doing with this?

You break into my room and do this? 

He holds Mathias by his dirty shirt. 

Mathias in “Confusion” and rage pushes Wilhelm away from him. 

Mathias:

What have I done? I was slumber in my room 

You are a man so solve this yourself 

He looks him dead in the eye

Touch me again like that you will lose your bloody hand. 

In the evening – 

Wilhelm sits at table eats food while Mathias watches from the dark corridor across from him and goes upstairs. 

The next day – 

Everything is normal but Mathias is nowhere to be found 

The day and goes on at night Mathias returns and has blood on his hands

Concerned Wilhelm asks- 

Wilhelm:

What the hell happened, are you okay? 

Mathias:

Yes…

He goes upstairs leaving Wilhelm in confusion and fear

In the night Wilhelm lies in bed and we hear journal entries 

Wilhelm:

It was been five cold hearted weeks and I keep wondering when will I feel safe 

Things keep disappearing out of my room…

Day – 

Wilhelm falls ill and starts coughing up blood…

Mathias watches and smiles at him 

Mathias:

Are you okay? 

Night – 

Wilhelm is slowly getting more sick and is losing hair 

He wakes up in middle of the night and sees Mathias standing at bottom of his bed and he is paralyzed with fear and sickness. He calmly walks out of his room.

Scene 4 – 

Mathias is outside walking the cliffs 

Voice over of Wilhelm’s Journal – 

Wilhelm:

Something isn’t right here…

I don’t remember when I last felt safe in this foreign place.

I think Mathias wants me to take my life

And God I won’t do it

I promise…
